~About Us~

Moonandstarkatz Siberians is about a personal journey and the fufillment of a dream. My dream was to breed and show cats. Perhaps that sounds like a funny dream to some, but to me, there was something mystical and spectacular about the cat fancy, and after showing my HHP in TICA, I was hooked.

I began exploring breeds, attended more cat shows and stumbled upon a website with a gorgeous silver with white girl. Her name was Derica Asthera and I was hooked. The Siberian is exactly what I wanted to learn about and work with. There is something wild, sweet and loveable all rolled into semi long hair and a HUGE gene pool. There was room to accomplish something with a yet rare breed, and plenty of shows to attend to both learn more and educate the public on this gorgeous, intelligent and exquisite breed.

In November 2005, we brought home a pair of cats from LA and in July 2006, our first litter was born. We kept Armand for future stud and then in October 2006, moved to Ohio. We then welcomed Rajjah, Bella and Marigold. Then in 2007 we finally got a grandson of Derica. Our upcoming stud Tayga. This is the Moonandstarkatz family with a wide and healthy gene pool and we hope you will join us on this wonderful journey. Nothing is predictable and its been a blessing, but we are thankful for the homes and the help we have received along the way.

In the beginning, we made goals to be small, to produce well socialized, vibrant kittens and to remain true to the Russian standard where this breed originates. So far, so good, and so much more to go -:)
